Elves Behavin' Badly: Introduction & Ideas

With so many tasks and chores to accomplish over the festive season, extra help with the little ones is always appreciated. Sent straight from the North Pole to decide who is on the naughty and nice list, the Elves Behavin’ Badly are a bunch of cheeky characters that’ll keep the kids on their best behaviour throughout December. To give you some inspiration, we’ve come up with twelve creative ways to pose these little creatures for maximum giggles...

The Arrival

Give Elfie and Elvie the entrance they deserve and make sure they don’t go unnoticed. Position them in their very own sleigh and write a message on a piece of paper that they can hold. Lay fairy lights down like a runway or teleportation circle for an extra magical touch.

Sign it

Give these elves a voice by writing messages from them in dainty elf handwriting. Whether it’s on a piece of paper, a whiteboard, or written in flour, young ones will love to read what these cheerful chaps have to say.

Little Graffiti Artists

Inspired by Banksy, the elves love to practice their graffiti skills around your home. Draw moustaches, eyepatches, and other funny features on the glass frame of a favourite family picture and give them the pen to hold. But make sure it can be easily wiped off to avoid permanently ruining your treasured photos!

Spillages

Was it an accident or was it done on purpose? From condiments to cups of water, the elves love to knock things over and create a mess. If you’re not a fan of wasting food, or you’re not looking forward to the clean-up, fake spillages are a fun prank and will surely fool the children.

Makeshift Snow

When Elfie and Elvie get homesick, they love to dust your kitchen counters in flour and play in it like snow. Lie them in the flour and clear some from around their arms and legs to make an elf-sized snow angel.

Building Snowmen

Did you know that marshmallows make perfect construction materials for elves? White and fluffy like fresh snow, they love to build everything with them from snowmen to sweet little houses. Cocktail sticks or chocolate sauce make for great cement.

Bathroom Sink

The first place your little ones go in the morning, the elves will be easy to spot here. Fill the sink with a little water and craft some rods for them to fish with. Get even more creative and write a message in toothpaste, reminding the whole family to brush their teeth - as soon as the weird and wonderful elves are done fishing.

Making Friends

As they're staying for a whole month, perhaps you should introduce the elves to the other members of the family - your child's dolls and action figures. Maybe they'll become great friends and have a lovely tea party, or maybe they won't get on with the locals and a stand-off will occur.

Robbers

Whether they're stealing pennies from the piggie bank, or they're found with their hands in the cookie jar, let your kids catch these criminals red handed. Some of the elves are already dressed for thievery with black stockings, jacket, and hat instead of the traditional red. They just can't seem to stay out of trouble.

All Bandaged Up

Look who found the plasters! Bound to get a few broken bones and boo-boos from all the mischief they’ve been up to, this scene is great if you’ve got two or more of these friendly fellows. Get them to bandage up their buddy or stop them from spilling the beans on the naughty or nice list by using the plasters to tape their mouth shut.

Bed Time

Causing so much chaos is a tiring task and even little elves have to sleep sometimes. Tuck them up in their very own bed and let them sleep during the day, getting their energy back to make more mayhem that night.

Back to the North Pole

As Christmas Eve comes, the elves need to travel home and report back to Santa whether your children have been naughty or nice. They wouldn't dream of leaving without saying goodbye though! Bring the sleigh and fairy lights back out for them to fly or teleport back. If your little ones have been especially good, they might even leave a small parting present in a themed gift box.
