Whether you’re having a quiet, traditional lunch with close family, throwing a large get together with all your loved ones or anything in between, these delicious ideas are ideal if you're uncertain what you want to serve for lunch.
Let’s start with the Easter Sunday Roast, this is an excellent idea if you’re having a smaller celebration. With a succulent roast lamb as the pièce de résistance, this timeless dish is always a firm favourite.
A starter: If you fancy adding a starter to your meal, soup will make a great choice. Not too filling, a pea and watercress soup is sure to impress guests whilst still leaving them hungry for more.
For the sides: you can keep it traditional with roasted rosemary new potatoes, glazed carrots, roasted leaks, and asparagus or green beans. And don’t forget about the mint sauce!
Make it veggie: if you still fancy a roast on Easter but are laying off meat, why not make a tasty pie full of seasonal veggies. If you’re hosting family with a mixture of dietary requirements, you can serve up the pie for the vegetarians (or vegans) and the lamb for the carnivores and everyone can help themselves to the yummy sides.
If you’re having a large celebration, having a buffet is a great way to reduce stress levels and serve everyone in a timely manner. You can even ask all your guests to bring a plate with them to make your life even easier! Here are some delightful dishes that are sure to impress:
Glazed Ham: With an array of glazing options available, you can choose one to perfectly match your taste. Some ideas are a simple honey glaze, maple and mustard, or an impressive apricot and ginger. Excellent for a buffet as it can be served either hot or cold, the ham can even be pre-glazed the day before to save you hassle when guests arrive.
Sausage Rolls: an easy crowd pleaser, sausage rolls are another dish that can be served either hot or cold. You can make these as simple or as fancy as you like: you can stick to a classic recipe with sausage meat, sage and carmelised onion, make them vegetarian by creating them with a feta and spinach filling or if you don't want to miss out on the lamb, why not make lamb and mint rolls.
Bunny shaped crudités: Put an Easter spin on your usual crudité platter by arranging you vegetables in a fun bunny shape. One way to do this is by putting your favourite dip or wheel of cheese in the centre, and creating a cute bunny face with olives, tomatoes, and chives. You can then make the bunny ears with bread or crackers and then surround your adorable design with the other veggies
Finger Sandwiches: quick and easy, you can choose a variety of fillings to please all your guests. We recommend smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise, cheese and chutney and falafel and hummus. You can cut these sandwiches into fun shapes with cookie cutters to really make them stand out.
