25 Easter Craft Ideas for the Whole Family to Enjoy

Whether you've got kids to entertain over the school holidays or simply want to inject some festive fun into your home, we've compiled a list of exciting Easter craft ideas to help you decorate your home for the season.

You can find a huge variety of affordable Easter craft supplies here at The Range. This way, you can get everything you need to keep the kids entertained under one roof!

So, let’s take a look at our Easter craft activities.

    1. Easter Baskets

Easter baskets are excellent for keeping Easter egg hunt chocolates or placing them around the home to use as springtime decorative pieces. Youngsters will love fun sets that allow them to unleash their creative side by making their own adorable felt bunny basket.

Another way to make Easter baskets is by upcycling baskets you may already have around your home. Simply get some card, blu tack, and paints to create fun, springtime designs such as chicks, eggs, and bunnies.

The best bit? When Easter is over, you can remove the decorations and save them for next year!

    2. Homemade Bunting

Exciting and easy, bunting is a wonderful way to add some Easter decor anywhere in your home. All you need is a template, some string, glue, scissors, and decorations.

Bunnies are a great idea for Easter bunting, just find a bunny template you like, cut out multiple copies with it and then you can use pom poms for the tail.

    3. Decorating Eggs

Painting Easter eggs is a tradition as old as… well, chocolate Easter eggs! You can decorate eggs in many different ways, meaning the kids will be entertained for hours.

    You could do:

    • Dots
    •  Flowers
    • Stripes

For the more skilled, you could even dye your eggs for a marble finish.

    4. Personalise Napkins

Already got all your Easter dinner set but want to make your feast extra special - why not try personalised napkins?

You could embroider names onto each napkin and make them multi-use as place settings! Or, you could sew some gorgeous Easter-themed ribbons and reuse them for years to come.

    5. Make Your Own Wreath

Who says wreaths just have to be for Christmas? Wreaths can be used at any time of the year - especially if you make your own Easter edition.

Simply get some wire and foliage to make the base, and then decorate with flowers, mini eggs, cute chicks, carrots, bunnies - anything you’d like.

    6. Candle Painting

The clocks may have gone forward, but the nights still get dark at this time of year. Rather than sticking the big light on, candles could be the answer.

You can turn this into an Easter crafting idea by painting your candles! One of the latest TikTok trends, you could choose florals to use all throughout spring or lambs, chicks, and rabbits to really get into the festive spirit.

    7. Create Place Cards

Making your own place cards is a great way to get your kids excited about the Easter festivities. If you’re having an Easter brunch or more, name cards are a lovely Easter craft to make yourself for that extra special touch.

    8. Coffee Filter Flowers

Easter doesn’t just have to be about cute animals, eggs, and carrots. Why not add some flowers to brighten up your space? You could make your own Easter flowers just with coffee filters!

Just add the coffee filters to some watered-down dye solution and allow them to dry completely. Then cut into flower shapes. You could even cut the flowers in various sizes and layer them for more 3D designs. Glue on a wire stem and show off proudly in your favourite vase.

    9. Egg Vases

Speaking of vases, you could always make your own. These egg-design ones are perfect for Easter time and perfect for all the family to get involved with!

A bit more in-depth than some of the other craft activities on this list, but totally worth the mess. Just use papier-mache around a balloon to create that speckled egg appearance. If you leave the edges rough, you can even make it look like the egg has recently hatched. Truly stunning either way!

    10. Make Your Own Coasters

We know that coasters aren’t just a craft for Easter, but who doesn’t love some cute, themed coasters? The perfect addition to your tablescape, we have a selection of pre-made coasters that are ready for you to paint as your heart desires.

You could paint them like eggs, chicks, or an array of flowers - there are too many ideas to choose from!

    11. DIY Bookmarks

If you’re trying to get the kids to enjoy reading, letting them make their own bookmarks is a fun activity that could have multiple advantages.

For example, they’re preoccupied with designing their bookmark - giving you the time to prepare your meals and Easter-themed sweet treats in (some) peace. Then, they spend some quiet time reading!

This is definitely an Easter craft to add to your list for the holidays.

    12. Salt Dough Easter Eggs

We get it, there are only so many actual eggs you can paint. That’s where salt dough eggs come in! Using a simple salt dough recipe, just mould the dough into egg-shaped pieces and leave them to dry.

Top tip: If you plan to hang your eggs, make sure to add a hole for the string before they dry!

Once completely dry, it’s time for the paints! As they have a flat surface, these are far easier to paint than normal eggs, so are perfect for smaller children. You could add glitter, sequins, or pom-poms. All are available from The Range’s extensive art and craft supplies.

    13. Candy Huggers

Sweets and chocolates are everywhere at this time of year. Sometimes, you just don’t want to give the kids a full bag of treats to get them wired up.

So, why not make these adorable candy huggers? All you have to do is cut out the figurine - whether that be a bunny rabbit, chick, or lamb - and stick its arms together.

This is the perfect place to pop a mini egg (or two). The kids are sure to love it!

    14. Cupcake Cases Flowers

If you don’t have coffee filters in the back of your cupboard to make flowers from, you can always use cupcake cases!

Simply open up the cases and paint the folded edges. Any colours will work. Leave them to dry and that’s your flowers complete.

If you wanted, you could always make a wreath out of these for a beautiful spring addition to your home.

    15. Decorate an Easter Tree

Have you ever considered an Easter tree? Sure, trees are more commonly associated with Christmas, but why keep all the fun for that time of year?!

You could add anything to your tree, such as:

    •  Salt dough eggs
    • Lights
    • Chicks
    • Tinsel
    • Feathers
    • Carrots
    •  Ribbons

Whatever brings you joy! Most people just use some branches for their tree, but you could find some pampas grass and bunny tails to fill out the vase you pop it in.

    16. Carrot Treat Cones

Sweet treats at Easter are a given, but why just give them in the packet they’re in? Take matters into your own hands and make carrot treat cones that anyone will love.

All you need to do is grab an orange card, some green tissue paper, and something to tie the top together. Simply wrap the card to make a cone and glue or sellotape it together. Then, do the same thing with the green tissue paper, add your sweets, and tie them together.

    17. Origami Bunnies

You didn’t just think it would be easy Easter craft ideas, did you? We know some of you are avid crafters, so we wanted to include some more challenging ideas.

    18. Make Your Own Canvas Bags

Everyone loves a canvas bag - especially one with a fun design that’s small enough to fold up into your handbag. So, why not make your own Easter-themed version?

You could adorn your bag with pom-poms, sequins, glitter, pipe cleaners - the possibilities are endless! Why not bring the kids with you to one of our stores? This way they can pick their own decorations from our wide choice of art and craft supplies so that they can be part of the process from start to finish.

    19. Egg Carton Flowers

After you’ve hard-boiled and dyed all your eggs for painting, you’re going to be left with a lot of egg cartons. Rather than letting them go to waste, turn them into some beautiful egg carton flowers.

    20. Bottlebrush Carrots

If you have some leftover bottlebrush trees from Christmas, rather than throwing them away, turn them into an easy Easter craft: carrots. Grab some orange spray paint and you’ve got all you’ll need!

They are the perfect addition to any homemade wreath or mantle piece display.

    21. Painted Wood Slice Easter Eggs

Need more ideas for your Easter tree? If you don’t want to begin making salt dough, you can still paint eggs - just on wood slices.

    These can be used as:

    • Hanging decorations
    • Coasters
    • As faces for chicks, rabbits, or lambs

These are an essential bit of kit for any craft lover! We have a wide variety of affordable art supplies here at The Range - make sure to check out our collection.

    22. Bunny Ears Headband

Bunny ears are the perfect Easter craft as the whole family can get involved! You’ve probably got a lot of the supplies already in your arsenal. For example, you could use:

    • Pipe cleaners
    • Card
    • Glitter
    • Glue
    • Sequins
    • Feathers

Get as creative as you wish with this Easter activity! Just pick up some headbands and you’re good to go.

    23. Easter Cards

Cards seem so much more special at Easter as they are few and far between. Be sure to put a smile on your family and friends' faces with a homemade Easter card.

We have a blog that covers how to create a cute Easter card - take a look to get inspired!

    24. Cracked Egg Candle Holders

After you’ve dyed your eggs, when you crack them open their shells could go to waste. But not with this Easter craft activity.

Save the cracked shells and use them as adorable tealight holders! They add a pop of colour to any space - whether it be on your mantlepiece or on your table runner.

Nervous about them falling over? You can always add them back in their carton (if you’ve not already turned them into flowers).

    25. Party Hats

Our final craft is essential for your next Easter party because no party is complete without hats!

You could either add decorations to pre-made hats or make the hats from scratch. If you wanted to make them extra special, you could pop people’s names on them and use them as table place settings.
