How tall should a TV stand be?

When viewing your TV from the sofa, you want it to be at a comfortable height to prevent neck or eye strain. As a general rule, the centre of the TV should be at or slightly below eye level.

 

You’ll also need to take some other factors into account. For instance, the size of your TV will affect the type of stand you go for. A larger screen will typically need a taller and wider TV stand.

 

Top tip: Measure from the floor to the average eyeline of you and your household (remember to sit on the sofa first). Take that number and subtract half of the TV’s height. This will give you a good idea of how tall your TV stand should be.
