What are the rules for pendant lighting?

 

When choosing a pendant light, it's important to consider the size of the light and how it fits within the available space. This will help you achieve a good balance of light in the room. As a general rule, pendant lights should hang 30-51cm below a standard 2.4m ceiling. Another way to measure for your new light is to make sure there is at least a 2.1m gap between the floor and the bottom of your pendant. For kitchens and dining rooms, it is recommended that your pendant should hang around 70–90cm above your dining table and 80–90cm above the kitchen island or countertops.
