As well as your tent, your air bed is an essential camping product! If you’re tired of sleeping on a flat, thin mat, an air bed is the perfect upgrade. You’ll find small and large air beds, as well as beds with built-in electric pumps that are extremely practical, inflating in just a matter of seconds.
For air beds that don’t come with a built in pump, that doesn’t mean that they’re not convenient. Simply lay it on the base of your tent, and inflate with an air pump. All that’s left is to find a good-quality sleeping bag, and you’re ready for a good night’s sleep.
And of course, not all air beds need to go on a camping trip. They’re also convenient if you live in a flat and are short on space for guests to sleep, packing away into a carry bag that you can store away with ease.
Should I choose an internal or external air bed pump?
Air beds with internal electrical pumps are extremely convenient - simply plug them into a wall socket and turn the dial! However, they do require a power socket. If you’re without electricity, then an external pump is the best choice. Most of our air beds are compatible with almost any pump, but make sure to check the product description first.
How do I prevent my airbed from deflating overnight?
First of all, make sure that you’re not over-inflating your bed. It’s tempting to pump up your airbed until it’s rock hard, but this can actually damage the seams. We’d also recommend that you place it on a smooth, empty surface - you can even pack a garden rug as the perfect foundation.
